Product Care

Clothing - please read the care label found inside before washing and drying your clothing.

Jewellery - all our jewellery is made from sterling silver, please read below for how to clean and care for your items. Sterling Silver is technically an alloy, containing at minimum 92.5% pure silver with the other 7.5% consisting of other materials. Due to this, there is always a chance of your sterling silver jewellery tarnishing as time goes on.

What can cause tarnishing?

The main culprit of causing tarnishing is sulphur, which is present in many forms around us. Day to day items containing such chemicals such as perfume, soaps, facial products, shampoos etc may cause tarnishing. Even eating food high in sulphur such as onions and eggs. Other ways such as wearing the piece in chlorine, keeping your jewellery in humid environments, higher acidity levels of the skin or allergic reactions can also cause tarnishing.

How to avoid tarnishing and care for your jewellery -

Some keep small pieces of chalk where they store their jewellery to absorb moisture in the air. Only put your jewellery on after applying perfume, deodorant etc and letting it dry. Avoid wearing silver when swimming. Avoid exposure to household chemicals. When removing ensure it is dry and wipe with a silver polishing cloth. Keep in a dry place and out of direct sun. Don't keep different metals in the same box, brass copper or costume jewellery should be kept away from silver or fine jewellery. Monitor your jewellery and be prepared to polish and clean it. Wear it regularly too!

How to clean  -

Silver polishing cloths, silver polish paste or liquid, ionic cleaners.
